Through a combination of circumstances, the last meeting of the Digital Resource Devolpment Team executive group (or Politburo) was somewhat less than quorate. In fact the only member attending was me. I wasn’t alone - Kye and Angus were there, and so were Dylan and Beverley from SMC (since the meeting was at SMC, this is not really a great achievement, though!). This meant that it was impossible to take any decisions about the applications to the Challenge Fund.
Still, the wonders of technology mean that we can have the discussion via email, and make our decisions soon, instead of waiting till the next meeting in three months’ time. However, as some have pointed out, it’s not the same as a face to face discussion - it’s not as quick, nor as effective. But it’s the best we can do. I wonder if we could try having meetings via MSN? My children use it extensively, but I’m not sure how well the other members would take to it. Might be fun to try though…

Communicating museum matters on MSN would certainly engage with a new and of course one of our much discussed target audiences, but as you say, one wonders how other members would take to it.
What applications to the challenge fund? and what decisions did you eventually make by email or have I missed something!

Hi Frank
The Digital Resource Development Team project has a Challenge Fund. Sorry, nothing to do with you!
Sorry (2): I can’t make the meeting on the 24th.
Re: MSN for video ‘chat’ - I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was blocked by many local authority IT departments. Flickr.com seems to be OK (except in Fife), but YouTube, which would be a great boon for video delivery, seems to be a no-no. We shall investigate further…

Hey - great blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a really nice platform you are using. I’m currently using Wordpress for a few of my blogs but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?
