24 January 2007 Partnership Network Day
The second Partnership Network Day was held on 24 January 2007 at the City Art Centre, Edinburgh. This was a working event to build on the discussions of the previous Network Day and formalise a prioritised action plan to take the partnership forward. The main issues discussed were the need to address core museum functions, principally, collections development – collecting, management, access and storage as well as advocacy and funding.
2006
22 June 2006 Partnership Network Day
The first East of Scotland Museums Partnership Network Day was held on 22 June 2006 at the City Art Centre, Edinburgh. The network day was an opportunity to review the work the first year of the partnership projects with presentations by the lead project partners. Guest speakers included Steve Callaghan of Orkney Museums on ‘RDCF project partnerships – a different view’ and Ian Waddel, Managing Director of Tayside Contracts on ‘Developing Effective Partnerships.’ Dawn Kemp of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh led a tour of Scotland and Medicine’s ‘Anatomy Acts’ exhibition. Partners also participated in Breakout Sessions to discuss their experience of the partnership to date and begin to develop an action plan for the partnership.
2005
18 January 2005 Concordat
The East of Scotland Museums Partnership, made up of representatives from Edinburgh, Fife, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders, formalised its existence with the signing of a Concordat on 18 January 2005 at the Edinburgh City Chambers.
