The partnership has agreed the following goals to deliver its vision:

• • to develop and promote the role of partner museums and presence in relation to national and regional, cultural, educational and economic agendas;
• • to enhance the roles of partner museums through the stablishment of support networks and training and skills development;
• • to enable partner museums to participate in the community planning process;
• • to identify and develop joint funding proposals;
• • to promote benchmarks for quality in museum services and management;
• • to improve the interface between local partner museums and national agencies;
• • to work across local authority boundaries to develop regional public, voluntary and private sector partnerships between museums and other agencies.
