Action Learning Set

Background

An East of Scotland partnership area Action Learning Set was established to support new entrants, AMA & museum studies students and new managers working within East of Scotland museum and heritage related organisations via regional peer group work and development of CPD opportunities, while studying for formal professional or academic qualifications in museum or collections related fields. Our Touring Exhibition Plans

We are currently formulating plans for a Touring Exhibition. Below are details of the theme and size of the exhibiton.

Theme

Agreed theme is ‘Fabric of Life' relating to textiles in the respective regions. Possibly underpinning themes are:

-Social history - relating to workers, owners, customers and their aspirations

-Environmental impact - changing in focus to bespoke garments to ‘throw away' approach versus increased focus on reducing waste e.g. move to fabric bags

-Fabric revival - innovative use of fabric, tartan bags, changes in colours, incorporation of tradition fabrics into modern design

Size

Agreed size for the touring element of the exhibition:

1 introductory banner
3 banners
6 A3 stands
4 crates for objects
