Vision

The Vision of the East of Scotland Museums Partnership is to enhance the museum services offered to the public in the East of Scotland and to foster excellence in museum practice.

The local authorities in the East of Scotland, in partnership with a range of museums organisations, have committed themselves to working co-operatively to support the development of capacity and sustainability within the museum sector.

Concordat

The organisations undernoted have agreed to work in partnership to encourage the development of capacity and sustainability, and the fostering of excellence in museum practice.

We, the undersigned, on behalf of our respective organisations are committed to supporting the objectives of the partnership by providing and co-ordinating high quality programmes and projects which enhance the museum service to the public and link into other initiatives within the public, private and voluntry museum sector.

Aims

The Partnership has the explicit aims of enhancing museum services to the public in the East of Scotland and fostering excellence in museum practice. The Partnership will:

• •work with others to help realise the full potential of our collections and people
• •share expertise and knowledge
• •explore examples of best practice
• •develop joint funding proposals
• •promote the role of museums, not only regionally but nationally
